FAQ
Most frequently asked user questions.
Does it work offline?
Partially. Bookings, profile and points are cached locally — visible without Internet. Actions (payment, opening a locker, chat) need a connection. The app syncs automatically when network is back.
Where do I get help with technical issues?
• Customers — "Support" button inside the app
• Operators — "Support" tab in the admin panel (chat with system admin)
• Admins — github issues / direct contact with the developer.
What's new: sizes, preorders and scheduled purchase
Several new capabilities:
• an operator-defined size catalog — sizes are assignable to both items and lockers;
• automatic size-based locker matching;
• "preorder-only" items — not physically present, placed on demand;
• scheduled purchase with post-purchase in-locker storage rules.
How does size-based locker matching work?
If an item has a size, a scheduled booking only picks a locker of the same size (exact code match). If no size is set, any free locker fits. Sizes come from the operator's catalog. The size and type of the locker that held the item are remembered on the order.
24/7 access, no cashier
Points operate around the clock — pick up or return whenever it suits you, not when the shop is open. The unlock code arrives instantly after payment.
Lower operating cost
You don't need staff on each point. One operator manages dozens of points from a phone: monitoring load, replying to customers, processing returns. Cuts unit cost several-fold.
Flexible pricing & discounts
Pricing has four levels: global → operator → point → item. You can grant personal discounts (per phone), group discounts (tag-based), time-bound promos, or whitelist-only access.
Transparent audit trail
Every action — payment, locker open, return, cancellation — is logged with timestamp and actor. Disputes shrink dramatically.
No vendor lock-in
The platform is hardware-agnostic: physical keypad locks with our controller, third-party Bluetooth/Wi-Fi smart locks, or no hardware at all (manual issuance with digital tracking). Start cheap, grow without migration.
What is LOKOvend?
LOKOvend is a platform of automated lockers for storage, rental and pickup. Find a point on the map, book an item, and unlock the door with a code or via the app — no staff in the loop.
How do I sign in?
Tap "Sign in" and enter your phone number. We send a one-time code via Viber/SMS — confirm it and you're in.
Is it safe to leave items in a locker?
Every locker has an electronic lock that only opens for the booking owner (via the app or a one-time code). Points sit in public, monitored locations.
Can I use the service without the app?
Yes. At many points you can pay via QR and receive the unlock code by Viber/SMS. The app gives you more: history, support chat, push reminders.
Which payment methods are supported?
Bank cards via a secured gateway (Plata by Mono / LiqPay). For test scenarios admins can temporarily switch to "fake" payments.
Will a deposit be charged?
Some items (e.g. expensive tools) require a pre-authorization on your card. The hold is released as soon as you return the item in good condition.
Is a fiscal receipt issued?
Card payment (Mono / LiqPay / Hutko / WayForPay) is acquiring, not a till. A Checkbox PRRO receipt is optional: the operator registers their own cash register with the tax office and saves the license key + cashier PIN. After a successful charge, penalty, or product return the platform creates a separate Checkbox receipt. An order can hold several receipts (rental, sale, penalty, return) — each opens in the app. The same links go to the inbox and Telegram. Email is shared with Checkbox by default (disable in Profile); phone only if the client turns that on. A Mono in-app cheque is not a fiscal receipt. The Z-report is taken nightly around 23:50 Europe/Kyiv — that is not the staff shift in the app.
Is my email or phone sent to Checkbox?
Email is shared by default so the till can send the official receipt; you can disable it in Profile. Phone is off until you enable it. The receipt link stays on the order either way.
How can an online shop deliver into a locker?
WooCommerce has a “LokoVend delivery” module (installed on the merchant’s shop, not on lokovend.com). The buyer picks a point at checkout; a cell is reserved after payment. Shops that already speak Nova Poshta’s JSON API can use the same protocol (NP-compat) — it is not an NP integration and not a real TTN. A JS point-picker widget works on any checkout.
Why does the app say “premises” instead of “cell”?
If you rent a room, garage, house or gazebo, the copy says “premises”. A locker or cabinet at the same site is still a “cell”. An operator can keep both on one location (cottage entrance plus a storage locker).
Why does paying for a locker also open the gate / another cabinet?
The operator can include linked locks in the same payment: the warehouse gate while your locker is active. They show up on your keychain in the app. The card (and the share page) shows what is included and what must be paid together.
If another unit is required, checkout adds a purchase (for example firewood with a grill) or an access rental of premises / an empty unit — not a second product rental. Or follow the link. Some extras cannot be taken on their own without paying for the linked unit at the same time.
Why was another rental or purchase added to my checkout?
The operator linked units at this site: this one cannot be paid for alone. If you do not already have cover, checkout adds a purchase of the item in that unit (firewood for a grill) or an access rental (gazebo, empty unit). A second catalog-item rental is not added. The card shows the terms and a link. If you already paid for the linked unit for this window, you are not charged twice.
How is my personal data protected?
We store the bare minimum: phone, nickname, optional email. Card data lives at the payment provider (PCI DSS) — we never see the full PAN. You can delete your account in one tap from the app.
Are there cameras at the points?
An operator can add their own RTSP cameras in admin: a still or a short clip before/after a cell opens, plus Live as server-side JPEG frames (the camera password never reaches the browser). The camera must be reachable from the server (VPN, public RTSP, or a stream ingest). Cloud-app-only cameras without RTSP will not work.
Tool & equipment rental
Drills, hedge trimmers, concrete mixers — classic hourly rental. Customer books online, picks up from the locker, returns themselves. Deposit is held on the card and released after operator inspection.
Last-mile delivery into a locker
Courier drops your order into a personal locker; you collect within a day. Great for clothing, groceries, documents — no more "wait for the courier between noon and 6 PM".
Luggage storage for travelers
A flat-fee day rate to drop off a suitcase. Locker near the station + multilingual app = no queues at the cloakroom.
Click & collect for retail
Customer pays online, the staff stocks a locker, customer picks up by code. No cashier, no queues, no need to keep the store open.
Smart-equipment sharing inside an office
Meeting rooms, projectors, tripods in a coworking — through the same platform as public points. Access restricted by whitelist (team members only).
Rental businesses
If you rent tools, sports gear, baby equipment — the platform replaces your cashier, your Excel log and your manual dispute handling. Start with a single point and manual issuance — zero capex.
Stores and marketplaces
Click & collect with no in-store staff. Plugs into existing logistics: the courier drops the parcel in the customer's locker instead of calling them.
Hotels, hostels, coworking spaces
Guest luggage storage, room-key dispensing, equipment rental (iron, hairdryer, bike) — without extra staff.
Logistics & marketplaces
Last-mile lockers under your own brand. Each operator gets a white-label version of the app, their own admin panel, their own payment integration. Customers see your brand only.
Why can't I see a particular item or point?
Some items or points are restricted by operators: whitelist (visible only to a specific list of customers) or blacklist (hidden from specific customers). If you need access, contact support — the operator can add you to the list.
How do I earn bonus points?
For every successful rental or purchase you receive points on the loyalty balance at the operator where the order happened. The total combines several parts:
• **Percentage of the check** — base rate configured by the operator (e.g. 5% of 200 ₴ = 10 points).
• **Fixed operator bonuses** — extra points on every rental / purchase.
• **First rental / first purchase bonus at this operator** — awarded once per operator.
• **LOKOvend global bonuses** — the platform adds its own points on top (see the dedicated article).
Everything is credited automatically once the order is successfully finished. You get a push notification "Bonuses added" straight away.
First rental / first purchase bonus
If the operator has configured a "first rental" or "first purchase" bonus, you receive it automatically on your very first completed order of that type at that operator. This is tracked **per operator**: a first rental at operator A does not consume your "first" at operator B. Each operator grants its own welcome bonus.
The exact amount is shown in the app on the loyalty screen or can be checked with the operator's support.
What are LOKOvend global bonuses?
In addition to operator bonuses, LOKOvend may award its own points for every rental / purchase and for your very first rental / first purchase on the platform. These stack **on top** of operator bonuses and land on the same loyalty balance at the operator where the order happened.
Note: the global "first" bonus fires **once in a customer's lifetime** — the platform counts it across all of LOKOvend, not per operator. That means it pays to use your first rental sooner rather than later.
How do I spend bonus points?
Create a booking as usual. While it's still in "Pending" state, the app shows a "Redeem points" option. Choose the amount — it's subtracted from the total, and the payment form charges the reduced price.
Limits:
• You can only spend points that belong to the same operator where you're booking.
• The maximum share of the check you can pay with points is set by the operator (e.g. "up to 50% of the check").
• A minimum-per-redemption amount may be configured.
• After payment the redemption cannot be reversed on your own — only via operator support.
Points expiry and limits
The operator can configure a "lifetime" for points (e.g. 90 days from the moment they're credited). Unspent points then expire automatically. The expiry date is shown in the app next to each entry.
Other limits:
• Points do not transfer between operators — every operator keeps a separate balance.
• Points cannot be converted back to money, only spent on future orders.
• If you cancel a booking before payment, the redemption is reversed; after successful redemption + payment — contact support.
How do I reserve a locker?
1. Open the app and find a point on the map.
2. Pick an item or an empty locker and tap "Rent".
3. Pay — you then have a reservation window (default 30 min, but the operator may set a different value) to come to the point.
4. Open the locker through the app or enter the code.
How long does the reservation last?
The reservation window is set by the operator. The default is 30 minutes from payment, but a particular point or item may use 15 min, an hour or longer. The exact value is shown on your booking confirmation.
How do I extend a rental?
Open the booking under "My orders" → "Extend". Add hours or days — the difference is charged additionally. You can extend while the rental is still active.
What does "Awaiting inspection" mean?
You closed the locker and tapped "Return". The operator now needs to check the item (in person or via photos) before the booking is finalized. Usually a few minutes during business hours.
Rental vs purchase — what's the difference?
• Rental — you take the item for a period, return it, pay for the time.
• Purchase — the item becomes yours, no return needed.
A single item can be available in both modes — the operator decides.
How do I get a discount?
Discounts are granted by the operator and applied automatically at checkout. They can be permanent (tied to your phone number), time-bound (holiday promos), or tag-based (e.g. "trusted" customers). You don't need to enter a code — if you qualify, it's already applied.
How do I link Telegram?
Profile → Notifications → Link Telegram. You'll get a code — paste it into our bot, and important messages (payments, reminders, returns) will arrive in your messenger.
Why aren't refunds issued after the locker opened?
Once the locker is opened the rental is considered started. Funds for time used are not refunded. Late-fee charges, however, can be disputed in support.
What is "Debt" in my profile?
If a charge fails (e.g. a late-fee couldn't be debited from your card), the amount becomes debt. While debt is open, new bookings are blocked. You can settle it in one tap from the profile screen.
Where can I see the fiscal receipt?
On the order card in the app — one link per fiscal event: rental, sale, penalty, product return. Each receipt is separate. The same links are sent in the inbox and to Telegram if the bot is linked. Email is shared with Checkbox by default (you can disable it in Profile); phone only if you turn that on.
Why do some items only show a "Schedule" button?
These are "preorder-only" items — not yet in a locker; the operator places them on demand. You can't rent or buy them "now": you pick a date and time, and the system selects a size-matched locker for you.
How do I schedule a purchase in advance?
If the operator enabled it, the item card shows a calendar button next to "Buy". Pick the date and time you'll arrive and place a purchase preorder. The dialog shows the breakdown right away: what is charged now, what on pickup, the total and the refund terms.
What happens to a bought item if I don't collect it in time?
It depends on the operator's settings. After purchase there's a free in-locker storage period. Then: nothing (it waits); a storage fee accrues until you collect it; the operator takes the item and resolves it individually; or the purchase is cancelled — money is refunded minus a deduction and the item returns to rental. The rule and timeframe are shown at checkout.
How do I change the language?
Profile → Settings → Language. Ukrainian, English and Russian are supported. Changes apply instantly — no restart needed.
How do I delete my account?
Profile → Settings → Delete account. Deletion is permanent: all data is wiped, active bookings must be closed first. Outstanding debt must be paid before deletion.
How do I return an item?
Come back to the same point, open the locker through the app and choose "Return item". Take a photo of the condition — it protects you in case of disputes.
What if the locker doesn't open?
1. Make sure the booking is active.
2. Restart Bluetooth/Internet and retry.
3. Tap "Support" — the operator can open the locker remotely.
4. As a last resort, there's a physical "call operator" button on the point.
